Marriage

One of women who participate in compost workshop invited me for her daughter's marriage.

It was my first time to attend islamic marriage.

The mother (a kid behind us is just between her and me)

Islamic marriage starts on Thursday and lasts for 3 days.

I went there on Thursday afternoon.

There were many women with coulourful dress in circle

singing,

dancing,

Giving some money or gifts to the bride's family.

I didn't know what to bring so I asked one of my colleague.

They will form a new family, we usually offer some plates or textile to make clothes.

I chose textile for her.

At home, she wasn't in the garden.

Sitting with her head covered with a white veil in a dark room with another girl who takes care of her.

She receives people there to visit her with some gifts.

She stays for total 3 days like that.

In the garden, no man was there.

Very different atmosphere from japanese style marriage, for example.

Me, most of the time, I was dancing and singing with other women outside...

Competition between 2 women, who can continue to dance longer.

Kids also put nice clothes
